Dr David Samuelson Council Member District 2 David Samuelson was born on March 28, 1938, in Tchula, Mississippi, where he received his high school education. He received his B.S. degree at Mississippi State University, and Doctor of Medicine degree in 1963 at the University of Mississippi. Postgraduate studies were at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where he completed his general internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 1967. Dr. Samuelson practiced medicine in Wharton, Texas, for 37 years, first with Rugeley and Blasingame Clinic, P.A., and later with South Texas Medical Clinics, P.A. He taught Community Bible Study in Wharton for 13 years. David is a member of the Board of Directors of Iago Federated Church and represents them as a board member of Share. He married Becky Cox in 1962, and they have three children and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, David enjoys raising and eating tomatoes, writing computer programs, reading, tackling a challenging jigsaw puzzle and, of course, playing with his grandchildren. Dr. Samuelson was elected to City Council in May 2004. |
